Two-hour Delay Oct. 12

Wilson County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Fri., Oct. 12 to allow everyone more time to get to school in case of minor flooding and also to allow for travel when it is light outside. High schools begin at 9:30 a.m., elementary schools begin at 10 a.m. and middle schools at 10:30 a.m. The Wilson Early College Academy and Wilson Academy of Applied Technology have a teacher workday but staff working should report one hour later than usual. Central Office and 12-month employees also have a one-hour delay. Because of the delay, we will not have before school care and will not serve breakfast. Students can be dropped off 30 minutes prior to the start time. The daycares in the high schools and the preschool program at Vick ES are also on a two hour delay. After school activities and athletics will resume on a regular schedule.
